Spotted gum is an Australian hardwood that is known for its highly durable properties. It is a BAL 29 compliant hardwood due to its density that aids its durability. Spotted gum has a fairly light complexion, which is ideal for a lot of colour schemes and can easily be painted to suit.
This screening profile is a great alternative to Merbau and has the advantage of being a non- resinous timber and therefore does not need to be sealed to prevent any tannins from leeching as compared with Merbau that will require this. It is priced very similar to Merbau and is generally either the same in price or slightly more expensive.
This screening profile is created with 42mm x 19mm battens and is screwed from behind with galvanised screws ensuring no fixings are visible from the front of the screening section. We have a gap of 16mm positioned between battens to create a unique visual aesthetic that is on trend with upmarket screening styles.
